Healthy Brown Bag Popcorn (Garlic Parmesan)

It was a little gloomy here Sunday and us girls (grandma, mom, daughter, and myself) were all a little tired out from the weekend. We decided to spend our afternoon being lazy with watching a movie and eating some popcorn.

So, I went in my kitchen and whipped out a brown paper lunch bag and my popcorn kernels and started to get to it. My mom is always curious about my popcorn. Seriously? You can just do it yourself? Without a box or some sort of expensive popcorn machine? Seriously. Yes. You can.

What? You didn’t know that you could just toss some plain popcorn kernels into a brown paper lunch bag, zap it in the microwave, and you’d have popcorn? Yep! It’s just that easy.

Making your own popcorn also cuts out all the preservatives, fat, and other hidden gems that you’ll find in those expensive pre-packaged counterparts. Plus, you get to season your homemade popcorn anyway you want!

Today I went with a garlic parmesan and rosemary flavor. It was one of my favorite so far! It was all I could do to keep everyones fingers out of the bowl while I was taking pictures.

Really. I had a shot with my little girl’s hand reaching out to grab a handful.

If you don’t like garlic or parmesan, you can always season the popcorn any other way you want. Try something spicy or sweet. You really can’t go wrong here.

Whatever taste strikes your fancy!
