This ingredient is generally found in nature in a cylindrical form. Typically they are white in color and have a developed green part, which you tend to discard because it is fibrous and has an excessively intense taste for some palates.

As a vegetable, leeks are close relatives of other vegetables which are respectively onions, garlic and shallots but are characterized by their great sweetness. These are foods that are considered perfect for pairing with other foods of the kitchen which are respectively butter, cream, sausages and tasty cured meats, such as the smoked ham of our recipe, bacon, sausage and speck.
