Strawberry Lemonade Punch

Have you ever tried making strawberry lemonade from scratch? Unless you have a juicer (I don’t), that is a lot of lemon squeezing and sticky counters. My hand kept cramping up! Then, low behold, I was totally disappointed in the outcome (I obviously need to work on perfecting my Homemade Strawberry Lemonade making skills).

I was still craving that refreshingly cold sweet, yet slightly tangy drink! Then it hit me, why not cheat a little? This Strawberry Lemonade Punch was born and let me tell you, it tastes amazing!

What Ingredients are included in Strawberry Lemonade Punch?

This punch only uses 3 ingredients. Lemon-Lime Soda (like Sprite or 7-up), powdered lemonade mix and frozen strawberries.

How to make Strawberry Lemonade recipe

First, we need to blend up the frozen strawberries. You can use either a blender or food processor. I like to use frozen strawberries for a couple of reasons. First, they are generally cheaper than fresh strawberries. Second, it instantly makes the drink cold even if the sprite could have used a little longer in the fridge.

When I make this punch, I put 2 cups of sprite in my blender along with a 14 ounce bag of frozen strawberries. I use the unsweetened strawberries.

sprite and frozen strawberries in a blender.

Blend until totally smooth.

In a large pitcher or punch bowl, add the remaining lemon-lime soda and enough lemonade drink mix to make 1 quart of lemonade. Stir until all of the drink mix has dissolved.

Next, pour in the blended strawberries. Mix until completely combined.

At this point, you can serve it or strain it. The punch will be quite seedy, so if you’d like to, run the punch through a fine mesh strainer to eliminate the seeds.

Serve immediately.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days.

How to keep Strawberry Lemonade cold

What is worse than warm party punch during a blistering hot summer party?? (okay, maybe totally running out of punch in the first place.. but still!)

This can be done a few ways but my favorite way is to make a batch of the punch ahead of time and then freeze large ‘ice blocks’ of the punch to be used as a large ice cube while serving! As the ice cube melts, it won’t dilute the flavor of the drink.
