Savory Pork Tenderloin

Pork tenderloin is always a great meal.  Seasoned with a savory spice rub, sautéed in olive oil with garlic and finally finished in the oven.  All in this weeknight 30 minute recipe.

I’m always looking for a good pork tenderloin recipe. I have a lot but more is always better. Based on Pork Tenderloin with Seasoned Rub a 5 star recipe from Food network by Elli Krieger.

A low 4 is probably more like it but as I said before, I have lots of pork tenderloin recipes and it is middle of the pack. If the spice list is to your taste, give it a try.

Notes. I consider a pork tenderloin as a three-sided meat so the searing is about 2 minutes per side times three. Any oven safe pan should work but cast iron is always preferred.

Preheat oven to 425 convection or 450 conventional.

Trim one whole pork tenderloin of the silverskin and trimmable fat. Mix rub.1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, oregano, cumin, coriander, thyme and course salt. Rub the spice mixture into the surface of the tenderloin.

Heat 2 teaspoons olive oil over medium high heat. Add 2 cloves of minced or crushed garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the pork tenderloin and sear each side for about 2 minutes until browning some.

Transfer the pan to the oven and cook until about 150 depending on your taste. About 18 -20 minutes in my oven. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
