Pumpkin Pretzels are chocolate covered pretzels made with just a few ingredients & perfect for Halloween! Tips for melting chocolate & the BEST tool to use.

Pumpkin Pretzels are the Halloween recipe I’d like to share with you all today! It’s a cool, dreary day today here in Utah, so I officially deem it Fall. My favorite season! Fall also equates to pumpkins in my book, so I thought I’d post these cute little pretzel pumpkins today.

Aren’t they cute?! Couldn’t be easier either- melt chocolate, color orange, dunk pretzel. OK, there are a few more steps, but really, it’s easy! I love pretzels and chocolate together too- sweet and salty is a great combination.

How do you melt chocolate in the microwave?

Melting chocolate in the microwave is easy if you go slowly. Always use a glass or ceramic bowl and chocolate that’s not old. To melt 1 cup of chocolate chips I’d begin with 1 minute in the microwave. After the 1 minute, let chocolate sit for 2-3 minutes. Then, gently stir and see if chocolate begins to melt smooth. If it’s still really solid, add 20 seconds in the microwave, then let it sit again. Often chocolate looks like it’s not melted when it really is, and you don’t know for sure until you gently stir it. If your chocolate melts but it’s too thick to work with, try adding 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil or shortening, then letting it melt and stirring it in.

Place 3/4 cup white chocolate chips in a glass bowl along with 1/2 tsp coconut oil. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Let sit in the microwave for an additional minute. Stir gently, then return to the microwave for 15 seconds, if needed.

Add coloring to chocolate and stir gently.

Dip each pretzel into the bowl of chocolate, gently tapping the edge of the bowl to release excess chocolate. This process is so much easier when you use a dipping tool! Lay the covered pretzel down on a piece of wax paper. Place 1 green chocolate candy into the top indent of the pretzel on its side, so it’s standing up. Now it’s a cute green stem! Let cool until solid.

Repeat the process until you have the desired amount of pumpkin pretzels, re-heating up the chocolate as necessary. Store in an airtight container to save.
