Put a little sugar in a narrow bowl and put the dry but still hot castagnola inside. Turn it on all sides to make the sugar stick well, several times. If you put the right amount of sugar, it will run out quickly and you can add more, otherwise, if it stays in the bowl and starts to darken and clump, change it!

In this way all the damselfish will be perfectly sweetened and you will not have wasted more sugar than necessary!

  • 50 grams of granulated sugar
  • grated rind of 1 untreated lemon
  • seeds of 1 vanilla bean (alternatively 1/2 sachet of vanillin)
  • 1 tablespoon of Strega liqueur (alternatively anise liqueur or whatever you prefer)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 6 gr of baking powder for cakes
  • 700 ml of sunflower oil i for frying
  • About 200 grams of granulated sugar for seasoning
  • a few tablespoons of Nutella or hazelnut spread

Method

How to make Nutella Castagnole

Once rolled in sugar, you can proceed to stuff them right away!

First of all, cut the center of each castagnola with a nozzle of a small pastry bag 2 – 3 mm thick, in order to obtain a hole without breaking or breaking the sweet. Proceed like this for all the pieces.

Then stuff by inserting the nutella-filled pastry bag directly into the hole with the spout, stopping when the filling comes out and at that moment make a small tuft and pull away.
